TRANSPORT SERVICES NAMED TOP PLACE FOR WOMEN TO WORK IN TRANSPORTATION

WIT-2020-TOP Company LogoTransport Services is once again being recognized as a “Top Place for Women to Work in Transportation” by the Women In Trucking Association. This is the second consecutive year that Transport Services has received this award.

The list recognizes companies in the transportation industry that value a corporate culture that fosters gender diversity; competitive compensation and benefits; flexible hours and work requirements; professional development opportunities; and career advancement opportunities.

According to Ellen Voie, president and CEO of WIT, the magazine created the award to support WIT’s mission: To encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments, and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the trucking industry. More than 13,000 votes were cast to identify the companies named to the list. This year’s list of award recipients is comprised of a diverse range of business sectors in the commercial freight transportation marketplace, including motor carriers, third-party logistics companies, and original equipment manufacturers.

Transport Services, Inc was also recognized by The Cleveland Plain Dealer as a 2020 Top Workplace earlier this year, making the list now five years straight.

“Becoming a Top Workplace is an achievement that organizations have to work hard for, so being recognized as a Top Workplace by multiple organizations for consecutive years is a huge accomplishment,” says Adam Therrien, President of Transport Services, Inc. “To be recognized alongside some of the largest companies in the transportation industry as a Top Place for Women to Work for in Transportation is an honor.”

He explains, “The thing that is most important to me is our people. We treat every person who works here like family – we take care of them. Our female employees are given the same opportunities and respect as their male colleagues and receive any accommodations or tools necessary to do their job. We have three female employees that have worked for the company for more than 20 years. We would not be where we are today without each and every one of Transport Services’ team members.”
